Veijo Baltzar has developed his unique methodology of directing and teaching, based on multicultural intelligence, since 1976. In 2011, the work was joined by Creative Association for Arts and Culture DROM. During the same year, Chancellor of Finland’s Ministry of Education and Culture Anita Lehikoinen has noted that Baltzar’s pedagogical methods represent potential Finnish product of export, having a remarkable potential of responding to modern challenges, that should be developed further.

In Intercultural Experiential Education, emotional intelligence, self-knowledge and interaction skills, are being thought by drama-based intercultural, experiential methods. In the center of the methodology is locating, achieving and maintaining balance as an individual in a new cultural environment.

New cultural environment occurs in regards to one's background and upbringing. The instructor sets new cultural environment for his/her pupils by setting multicultural values as a priority to be followed in all interaction between individuals in a community.

In the center of the methods is achieving comprehensive balance with one's identity, and recognizing one's own cultural background in a new and challenging multicultural environment.

Baltzar has applied Intercultural Experiential Education throughout his 50-year artistic career in all theatrical productions and pedagogical activities.

"If an individual is given education in accordance with his or her basis of growth and orientation, even a student with poor self-esteem will begin to display volume, bearing and strength. A freed mind and energy are fuel that even economic power should not underestimate, for then it would underestimate everything that would produce spiritual and emotional well-being and related gain."
